Doubtful Sound

The remotest place we've ever been

Willemijn and Gert Jan in their kayak

Although the rain makes Doubtful Sound such a beautiful place, we're happy to find out that it stopped raining when we get up. We have breakfast, pack our stuff, get into our - still soaking - kayaking gear and paddle out once again.

Doubtful Sound

We paddle through more stunning scenery, stop for tea and lunch and at the end of the day, we reach the shore at Wilmot Pass.

Tired but happy we arrive at our campsite in Te Anau, take a long hot shower and hurry to Will's pub, the Redcliff Cafe.
