To The Mud Pools!
From Taupo to Rotorua
On to Taupo, self proclaimed Trout Capital of the World. We're not spending much time in Taupo itself though. We visit a thermal area called Craters of the Moon, a large open area with lots of steam clouds venting from holes in the ground.
We take a well deserved and long break in the extremely comfortable 39 degree water of Waikite Valley thermal pools, a very low profile and quiet thermal pool built around a hot spring by the local community.
There's just one more thing left to do for today: see where our friend Brigit grew up, on Tarawera road, Rotorua. We take a snapshot of the mailbox and hope it's still the same one. :-)
